Honnas Veterinary was established in 2023 by Dr Cheri Honnas. Originally from Bryan, Texas, Dr Honnas followed in her veterinarian father’s footsteps, studying at Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, before moving into the field. Dr. Honnas later returned to Texas A&M for her residency before she began working overnights at Lakeway Veterinary where she learned key information about what it means to be an emergency vet. With a clear vision for what Honnas Veterinary should be based on the needs of Austin’s pets and their owners, Dr Honnas then opened her own stunning vet clinic and animal hospital on South Lamar Blvd, where she leads a team of caring and devoted staff, to deliver a range of veterinary services with excellence.

Do I need an appointment?
At Honnas Veterinary, we accept walk-ins! However, to reduce potential wait time, you can book a same day appointment with one of our vets using our online booking system.
Do we accept insurance?
We accept Trupanion! As well as Care Credit and Scratch Pay. Check out our How to Pay guide, email [email protected], or contact us for more information.
What days are we open?

Do we do surgery?
Yes! From our in house veterinary surgery, we provide a range of surgery options! If this is an emergency, bring your pet to us immediately. Otherwise, schedule an appointment.
Are diagnostics in-house?
In the event of pet illness or injury, Honnas Veterinary is equipped for a range of diagnostics including echocardiogram, radiographs and blood work! Contact us to tell us more about your pet’s symptoms and we will let you know what’s next.
Do we only do primary care?
