Dr. Cheri Honnas

Originally from Bryan, Texas, Dr Cheri Honnas followed in her veterinarian father’s footsteps, studying at Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, before moving into the field. Dr. Honnas later returned to Texas A&M for her residency before she began working overnights at Lakeway Veterinary where she learned key information about what it means to be an emergency vet. With a clear vision for what Honnas Veterinary should be based on the needs of Austin’s pets and their owners, Dr Honnas then opened her own vet clinic on South Lamar Blvd, where she leads a team of caring and devoted staff, to deliver a range of veterinary services with excellence.
DR. Grace Thornley
VETERINARIAN
Dr. Thornely graduated with high honors from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and has since made a big impact in the veterinary sector due to her positivity, curiosity, and warm presence. When Grace is not caring for animals, you’ll find her playing pickleball, baking sourdough bread, or taking her pup Bunny to the park. She especially enjoys meeting new patients and their people—building strong relationships from day one and helping pets live their happiest, healthiest lives.

Dr Cailin Wong joined Honnas Veterinary in July 2025 after graduating Cum Laude from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, so we are extremely excited to have her on board. As a Fear Free Certified Veterinarian, Dr. Wong is all about meeting patients where they are, both emotionally and physically. She takes time to understand each pet’s individual needs, bringing empathy, patience, and a personal touch to every visit.
DR. MARIO ARREDONDO

Dr. Mario Arredondo is a distinguished relief veterinarian with a remarkable background. Originally from Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, he relocated to Austin, Texas, where he earned his degree from Texas A&M. Dr. Arredondo began his career in mixed animal medicine, working in rural Texas, before shifting to relief work in the DFW area and along the I35 corridor. Renowned for his compassionate nature, he offers clients a reassuring presence during challenging moments. Outside of work, Dr. Arredondo enjoys playing video games and traveling to new destinations around the globe.

PRACTICE MANAGER
Nick is our dedicated Practice Manager, ensuring our hospital runs smoothly by overseeing protocols, inventory, and staff support. He has also fostered strong connections with other clinics in the area, strengthening our network of care. With over 10 years of experience working with animals, Nick brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to our team. He is certified in both ultrasounds and echocardiograms, as well as Fear Free Certified, reflecting his commitment to providing the best possible care for pets. Around the clinic, Nick is also known for lovingly caring for our two clinic cats, Crowley and Azazel, who are never far from his side.

Amelia is one of our outstanding Veterinary Assistants, known for her compassion, dedication, and her willingness to always go the extra mile for both clients and patients. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Chemistry in 2024 and is now on her path to becoming a veterinarian, with plans to begin at St. George’s University of Veterinary Medicine in 2026. Her passion for animals and her drive to learn make her an invaluable part of our team, and we are so excited to support her as she works toward her dream of becoming a doctor of veterinary medicine.
